Technology and Consensus Mechanisms

Proof-of-Participation (POP)

PLX Network uses a Proof-of-Participation consensus mechanism that rewards active engagement and community participation rather than raw computational power.

Your mining rate is shaped by what you do on the platform — not by who owns the most expensive hardware:

  • Consistency – regular sessions and daily check-ins keep your mining habit rewarded
  • Network growth – active referrals and a mining team raise your rate
  • Platform engagement – badges recognize activity

How a Mining Session Works

  1. StartTap Start Mining on your dashboard to begin a 24-hour session.
  2. MineOur cloud servers run the session. Your rate is calculated on the server, and PLX is credited to your balance while the session runs.
  3. RestartWhen the session ends, start the next one. Your streak, balance and network carry forward.

Cloud Mining Infrastructure

Your phone isn't doing the computational work. When you start a session, PLX Network allocates cloud resources on our infrastructure to run your mining session. The app is a live window into that session, showing your balance, rate and progress in real time.

How Your Session Rate Is Calculated

The session rate on your dashboard, shown in PLX per hour, is calculated by our servers from five stacking factors, in this order:

  1. Base rateSet when you create your account and fixed for that account permanently.
  2. Permanent referral bonusA small, lasting bonus each time someone applies your referral code.
  3. Active referral bonus+0.03 PLX/hr for every referral who is currently active, with no cap.
  4. Team boostA multiplier on everything above when team members mine at the same time: 1.2× with 3 active members and 1.5× with 5.
  5. 2× Boost (planned)A future boost that will double your rate for one hour.

Session Rate = (((Base Rate + P_ref) + Active Referral Bonus) × Team Boost) × Boost Multiplier × (1 − Session Penalty %)

A worked example is on our blog: How Mining Works in PLX Network.

Base Rate Locking and Decay

The base rate you receive depends on when you join. The entry rate for new accounts steps down in decay cycles, and a decay happens when either of two things occurs first: the total user count grows to 16.1226 times its size at the start of the cycle, or two years pass since the last decay. Each decay lowers the entry rate by a set percentage that follows a repeating pattern of 24%, 16% and 12%.

Once your account is created, your own base rate never goes down. Accounts created before 1 May 2026 locked in 7.36 PLX/hr, the highest base rate that will ever exist. See the current entry rates in Base Rate Decay, Explained.

Inactivity Penalty and Recovery

Mining is built for real life. You can miss up to five days with no penalty. After that, your session efficiency drops by 2% for each extra inactive day, down to a floor where you still earn 20% of your rate. Every session you complete wins back 3%. After 90 days of inactivity an account is archived and mining pauses; nothing is deleted, and you can reactivate from your dashboard. The penalty only affects your session rate, never your base rate, your balance or your referral network. Details: Mining Decay & Recovery, Explained.

PLX Chain and PLX-20 (In Development)

PLX Chain is our planned Layer-1 blockchain, and PLX-20 is the token standard designed for it. Both are at the design and early development stage and are not live. Their goals are open transactions, support for the apps and services on our roadmap, and a path from today's in-app balance to on-chain PLX. We plan to publish technical details and run a public testnet before anything goes live.
